Slugs and Snails

Slugs and Snails – the original boy’s and girl’s tights company. A small family run business which started in 2008 with the birth of their son. Living in an old house, atop a cold windy hill on the west coast of Ireland, keeping their newborn warm was a priority.  To them, tights were the obvious solution.  Yet they simply couldn’t find any tights designed for little boys and girls.

So they put him in the only tights they could buy, girls tights. It didn’t take long for them to really appreciate how practical tights were.  So they began to come up with their own designs with little boys in mind. They wanted something extra special, super soft and durable.  Designs that were playful, colourful and unique. As they began to chat to other parents they realised others shared their frustration at the lack of boys tights on the market.  Also so many parents wanted tights that were unisex, that could be shared between siblings…and so you have it Slugs and Snails was born!

They were the FIRST company in the UK or Ireland to design and produce tights just for boys and girls.  Since their initial launch in 2011 they have grown to an internally recognised, award winning eco friendly children’s wear brand.  Their products are famous for their quirky gender neutral designs.  Which last and last season on season offering both superb value for money and a welcome break away from kids clothes that are overly disposable.

Slugs & Snails will this year see the launch of their 7th Autumn/Winter collection since their inception.  They have added a wonderful array of over 20 different designs to their collection with up to 7 different sizes. You can even grab yourself some limited edition adult tights!
